TAKING CARE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS IN THE SUMMER
Hair extensions needs lots of TLC just like our own hair and even more so in the warmer months. So to help you lovely lot with that, here’s our guide on how to look after hair extensions in the summer for beautiful hair extensions all year round.
TAKING CARE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS IN THE SUMMER #1
Our first tip for taking care of your extensions in the summer months is to never, like everrrr, use salt spray on them. We know that surfy, beachy waves are oh so gorgeous and you want to use your extensions to mimic the look but using salt spray on your hair extensions is a huge no no. The alcohol contained in salt spray will only serve to dry out your extensions causing them to become tangled and matted...definitely not a good look. Instead, cheat your way to the look by spritzing your extensions with some curl enhancing leave-conditioner and wind small pieces of hair around the end of a make-up brush or a pencil for beachy tresses without the damage. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, gals!
TAKING CARE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS IN THE SUMMER #2
Next up in our summer hair extension guide is one of the most important pieces of advice we can give you, do not, we repeat, do not get your hair extensions wet. Yes, we understand that this may seem a little odd but seriously, chlorine and salt water will play absolute havoc with your extensions and will result in dishevelled hair extensions/ If you can’t stand the thought of abandoning your extensions at the beach, pop your hair into abraid and accessorise with a floppy hat or a cool head scarf.
TAKING CARE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS IN THE SUMMER #3
Finally, a key tip for keeping your extensions looking dreamy during the summer is to keep them nourished and moisturised. If you’re going to be wearing your hair extensions out and about, you need to make sure that they’re protected from UV rays if you want them to stay looking their best.
We’d definitely recommend taking these tips on how to look after hair extensions in the summer on board, gals. After all, hair extensions are for life, not just for summer, right?
